DCS Netlink has partnered with Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) and WITC to host the annual InterSec 2009, Internet Security Conference.

InterSec 2009 will take place at the Ramada Convention Center in Eau Claire, WI, on February 26 & 27, 2009.

The Internet has become integrated into nearly every aspect of our society. As technology grows, the Internet will also grow and the technologies that we will be using five years from now, we can hardly imagine today. While the Internet has allowed us to touch and talk to other people and computers throughout the world, it has also made our personal and business data, our infrastructure, local, regional, and national security all vulnerable to attack and destruction. The key lesson learned is that those who rely on networked systems and the Internet must take proactive steps to identify and remedy their vulnerabilities, while at the same time continuing to do business on a day-to-day basis with all of its challenges (i.e.-budgets, risks, new/old threats, etc.).

InterSec 2009 will focus primarily on “Securing Data in a Mobile World.” The conference tracks for the Chippewa Valley (Eau Claire) are:

Banking
General Business
Health Care
Government/Law Enforcement
Manufacturing

The seminars are designed to cover a broad range of mobility and Internet security topics, and challenges facing the government, business owners, managers, and IT personnel – “SECURITY IS EVERYBODY’S BUSINESS.” We have invited security and industry experts who will both speak and demonstrate how, in an ever increasing mobile world, we can connect to networks and the Internet and keep data secure while doing business.
